On 31st May, Pilling Moss Gundog Club hosted the annual 4 Way Inter Club Challenge Match between PMGC, Burns and Becks, Pennine Training Area and Lancs and Merseyside Field Trial Society at the fabulous Whittington Hall Estate, by very kind permission of Lord Reay and his Keeper, Peter.
What a fantastic day we had.
The ground was outstanding, the weather was great, the banter even better!
A huge thank you to our judges, Paul Dixon, Brenda Lawson, Sonja Ludwig and Mark Palmer, what a brilliant job they did.
Some challenging tests on ground that was far from easy, but every team put on a top performance.
Our team was:
Puppy: Bob Flewitt & Nigel McIlroy
Novice: Julie Flewitt & Geoff Saint
Open: Roz Mcilroy & Keith Broomfield (Team Captain)
After a full day of Puppy, Novice and Open tests, followed by a full team test, the final results were:
Pennine Training Area 572
Pilling Moss GC 570
Burns & Becks. 535
Lancs & Merseyside. 470
So PTA take the Inter Club Shield trophy for 2025 by just 2 points out of 600, congratulations to them and all their team, captained by Gary Collier.
The individual awards go to Scott Marland as top scoring Puppy, Julie Flewitt as top scoring Novice and the top scoring Open dog was handled by Tula Lowe.
Next year’s hosts will be Pennine Training Area.
